Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam
Die Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam ist eine öffentliche Forschungsuniversität in Amsterdam, Niederlande, die 1880 gegründet wurde. Die VU Amsterdam ist eine von zwei großen, öffentlich finanzierten Forschungsuniversitäten in der Stadt, die andere ist die Universität von Amsterdam.
VU Amsterdam has been ranked as the most sustainable university in the Netherlands by SustainaBul, and comes in second place overall. This ranking is organised annually by Studenten voor Morgen (Students for Tomorrow). On the basis of a survey, Dutch higher education institutions are assessed on sustainability in education, research, operational management and best practices. Life Terra and VU Amsterdam kicked off a collaboration, and the first graduates got the opportunity to plant trees themselves in March 2023.
Die VU Amsterdam nahm auch am Webinar "Beyond Green Campuses: how european universities are taking climate action" von Life Terra teil, in dem Ivar Maas, Leiter des Nachhaltigkeitsbüros, erläuterte, wie die VUA Schritte zu mehr Nachhaltigkeit unternimmt.
