Progress at Cortijo del Milano: A Thriving Agroforestry System in Badajoz
During a recent monitoring visit to the Cortijo del Milano planting site in Badajoz, Spain, observers noted the impressive progress of the agroforestry system. Managed according to the principles of syntropic agriculture, the site shows strong and consistent plant growth across the various species. The vast majority of the planted trees and shrubs have successfully established themselves, reflecting an outstanding survival rate. Positive signs of ecological recovery are already visible, with an increase in vegetation density and a strengthening of the local ecosystem structure. Regular maintenance by the landowner has kept the plot in excellent condition, and no major weather-related challenges have impacted the site. This initiative demonstrates how structured agroforestry can foster biodiversity and accelerate land regeneration.
