Monitoring Progress at Heemstede: Growth and Seasonal Adaptation
A recent visit to the planting site in Heemstede revealed promising development across the different sections. On the north side, the hedge has grown beautifully and appears full and healthy. Meanwhile, the southern section, where new shrubs were planted in December 2025, presents a different stage of growth. These younger plants are currently facing strong competition from the surrounding grass. While a strong majority of the overall planting has successfully established roots and is progressing well, some specific species, such as the sea buckthorn, are currently struggling, likely due to overly wet ground conditions. The site continues to adapt to its environment, and further updates will follow as the seasons progress.
