Monitoring Visit to a Thriving Planting Site in the Netherlands
A recent monitoring visit was conducted on June 4, 2026, to the planting site known as KanaalparkNoordprof_DenBosch_NL_23/24 in the Netherlands. Observations suggest a very high rate of establishment for the planted species, indicating successful growth and development. The visit revealed a diverse range of species thriving across the site, including Prunus spinosa, Crataegus laevigata, Rhamnus cathartica, Alnus glutinosa, Viburnum opulus, and Rosa canina. While some sections showed taller grasses and slightly less dense bush growth, many areas were notably dense, exhibiting good vertical diversity and vigorous growth signs. Instances of natural regeneration were also observed, with species like Populus tremula, willow, and Populus alba emerging within the site. A protective fence has been installed to shield the young plants from grazing animals, ensuring their continued development. The overall health, vertical and horizontal diversity, and density across various patches reflect a positive trajectory for the site.
