Monitoring Visit to Nowy Dwor
During a recent monitoring visit to the Nowy Dwor site near Warsaw in April 2026, a disappointing setback was discovered. The entire planting area had been accidentally mowed, resulting in the loss of all the recently planted trees. Only small tree stumps remained visible across the field. Despite this unfortunate situation, swift action is already underway. The local project coordinator, along with the village mayor who had actively participated in the original planting, immediately addressed the issue. Plans have been established for the municipality to replant the area in autumn 2026. To prevent similar accidents in the future, the replanted zone will be clearly marked and protected with poles and wire. This visit highlights both the challenges of maintaining young forest sites and the strong commitment of local partners to see the restoration succeed.
