40th Science Projects Workshop (SPW) 2023: Terra Mission Challenge
As part of the 40th Science Projects Workshop hosted in the Future Classroom Lab, the Terra Mission Challenge took center stage, inspiring educators with practical tools and examples of environmental education in action.
During the session, participants were introduced to the Life Terra Guide for School Plantings, an accessible resource to help schools engage students in tree planting and sustainability. The workshop also highlighted the 2023 STEM Discovery Campaign Competition, encouraging schools to take part in climate-focused STEM initiatives.
A key focus of the presentation was the collaboration between Life Terra and the Eskişehir Regional Directorate of Forestry. This partnership led to an impactful City Forest Planting Event in collaboration with the Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality, including a visit to the Sapling Center—an inspiring example of how local institutions and schools can work together to restore nature and engage students through action.
The Terra Mission Challenge offered participants a concrete and replicable model to bring environmental sustainability into their own classrooms, connecting curriculum, community, and climate action.
