Adyen Plants 430 Native Trees at Enfield Chase
On February 5th, Adyen joined Life Terra in Enfield Chase to contribute to one of London's most ambitious nature restoration initiatives. In just two hours, the team planted 430 native, mixed-species trees, actively supporting the regeneration of this historic landscape.
Enfield Chase: From Hunting Ground to Woodland Restoration
Once a royal hunting ground, the forests of Enfield Chase were gradually lost to agriculture and infrastructure. Today, however, this area is undergoing a large-scale transformation, becoming London's largest woodland and nature restoration project. The goal is to convert up to 1,000 hectares of farmland into publicly accessible nature spaces, featuring extensive woodland, ponds, and wetlands. The project integrates a network of footpaths and cycleways, making it a valuable green corridor near the city.
A Large-Scale Restoration Effort
This initiative delivers long-term environmental benefits at multiple levels. Locally, it enhances biodiversity and improves air and water quality. Regionally, it strengthens London's green infrastructure, helping mitigate climate change impacts. On a national scale, it aligns with reforestation and carbon sequestration efforts, contributing to the UK’s sustainability goals.
Life Terra is proud to collaborate with Enfield Borough Council on this essential restoration project. We are also grateful to Adyen for their commitment both in time and resources to help transform former farmland into a thriving ecosystem. Their efforts directly support the development of a resilient, green landscape for both people and wildlife.
