Agroforestry planting with Cocoons in Caceres

Last Saturday, April 17, we visited a region in the north of Cáceres called ‘La Vera’ which is a collection of villages in the foothills of the Sierra de Gredos. It’s a beautiful area, with lots of rivers and oak trees, cherry trees and chestnut trees.

In a Finca of Villanueva de la Vera, the Life Terra team has carried out a tree plantation where participants were local landowners, people from local organizations, and neighbours. Besides, as its landowner wants to implement various techniques of permaculture and regenerative agriculture courses, we enjoyed planting 15 trees with the technique of Cocoons.

Cocoons consist of a biodegradable water tank that supports the seedling during its critical first year. Participants were very interested in Cocoons and collaborating with our Life Terra project. Looking forward to our next activities together!
