Back to the Roots: celebrating 5 years of environmental impact

On May 7th, Life Terra will host a special event titled “Back to the Roots” to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the Foundation at Marienwaërdt, the Netherlands. This milestone gathering will bring together valued partners and clients to celebrate the collective impact achieved since the organisation’s founding.

Over the past five years, Life Terra has worked hand in hand with forward-thinking companies to take meaningful and local climate action. For some of the partners, this collaboration has spanned the full five-year journey, an achievement that the event aims to honour and celebrate. It will also mark the end of the 2025-2026 planting season, for which 500 new trees will be planted to continue restoring the forests and biodiversity across the estate.

“Back to the Roots” is both a reflection and a call to action. The event will offer attendees the opportunity to connect with nature from different perspectives, such as nature photography, alongside Humberto Tan and his workshop “Face to Face with Nature”, or music, alongside the piano artist and composer Iris Hond. The gathering will also serve as a platform to inspire continued engagement. As climate challenges intensify, Life Terra encourages companies from all sectors to get involved to continue expanding its environmental impact across Europe.

As part of the celebration, Life Terra will donate 30 apple trees of five historic varieties to the Estate of Marienwaërdt, contributing to both biodiversity restoration and the preservation of cultural heritage. Planted in the heart of the Betuwe region, these traditional cultivars, including the Gravenstein, reminiscent of early fruit-growing traditions, and the Notarisappel, reflecting the craftsmanship of 19th-century Dutch horticulture, symbolise a return to the region’s agricultural roots while supporting resilient ecosystems for the future.
