Chateaupers Planting Site Visit
A recent visit to the Châteaupers planting site in France provided encouraging insights into our reforestation progress. The site showed promising health, with visible maintenance efforts and a high estimated survival rate among the planted trees, indicating strong overall progress.
We also gathered valuable lessons for future management. While the project is on a positive trajectory, we observed variations in species performance: particularly higher mortality in pines planted in areas with poorer soil. The lingering impact of past drought was evident, and we noted the absence of significant natural regeneration at this stage. These observations help us refine our strategies for even greater resilience and success.
