First citizen tree-planting in the Czech Republic!

Last week Life Terra co-organized its very first citizen tree planting event in the Czech Republic. It was our great pleasure and very important to help facilitate the involvement of the local community in this kind of climate action.

The municipality of Radonice supported the event and we were happy to have not one but even two mayors (Radonice & Vilémov) amongst the participants. Other guests came from the forest owner association SVOL. The most excited tree planters on this day, however, were the youth from “Klub NaNáměstí”. After learning more about the environmental challenges in the context of climate change, the volunteers - 17 adults and 14 minors - were ambitious to help restore the forest.

The planting area is part of a larger reforestation project which the landowner, Life Terra and the Forestry Department of the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (CZU) collaborate on. Read more about it here (in Czech).
