Food forest heroes

These 3 Dutch entrepreneurs were independently thinking about their contribution to the fight against climate change. They all own a property with some land in northern Spain (Figueres and Girona provinces) and thanks to Life Terra have now come together to plant trees and create food forests.

More and more farmers and landowners are switching to trees around their land (windbreak, green infrastructure to host birds and insects) on their land (agroforestry or even more dense food forests) to help accelerate the transition from conventional agriculture to more sustainable land management practices.

Food production systems with trees and bushes not only generate more diverse (nuts, fruits, honey, ....) and abundant harvests but also restore soils into living ecosystems that sequester lots of carbon and also add huge biodiversity to the area.
