Fundacio Emys keeps restoring ecosystems in Catalonia

Our partner Fundació Emys is restoring riparian ecosystems in Catalonia.

A group of employees, together with some volunteers have participated in a tree planting activity along the river bed of the Onyar river, in the municipality of Vilobí d'Onyar (Catalonia). Participants spread out across the river to plant on both sides and trees were planted in such a way as to avoid erosion of the river sides. The riverbed was full of garbage, so the team also devoted some time to removing waste from the area.

The weather and the low water level of the river made planting tasks easier for all participants. They were also able to enjoy observing various types of reptiles that were spotted, including ladder snakes and slow worms.
