Getting plantings ready in Freixo do Meio

New life! Our partners at Freixo do meio are ready to plant a large number of trees and shrubs to improve their land.

The traditional Cork oak (Quercus suber) will be accompanied by Holm oaks (Quercus rotundifolia), Stone pine (Pinus pinea), the wild olive (Olea europea sylvestris) and Mastik shrub (Pistacia lentiscus).

The objective is to restore the local ecosystem with climate-resilient and productive species, create shadows in the hot summers and windbreaks against erosion.
