How to ensure successful tree plantings

At Life Terra we always aim at improving the quality of our plantings.

This can be done through good preparation of the planting hole and the use of high-quality seedlings. In those cases where high-value trees are employed, such as in food forests, it makes sense to also add soil amendments.

In this windbreak at the Mas Cufí farm (Boadella, Figueres, Catalonia) we applied a mix of compost, coco fiber and perlite. We add a few liters of water to the planting hole so the roots can quickly expand and start absorbing the nutrients. And after planting we put a thick layer of mulch in order to prevent the evaporation of moisture.
