Planting day in Chiliodendro, Greece

The first event after the Easter Holidays took place on Wednesday of 12th May at a former landfill located in the Local Community of Chiliodentro, Regional Unit of Kastoria, Greece. Life Terra organized a planting event in cooperation with CERTH, the local community, and the local primary school of Chiliodentro.

Students of the local Primary School, along with their teachers and parents, participated in the event. All COVID-19 protocol measures were followed, for the safety of the participants, which had the opportunity to know about the Life Terra project and share their tree planting experience.

CERTH team showed the proper way to plant a tree, and students started planting. 165 trees were planted, including sycamore (Acer pseudoplatanus), macedonian oak (Quercus trojana), common hornbeam (Carpinus betulus), european nettle tree (Celtis australis) and european beech (Fagus sylvatica).

Planting events will continue until the end of May in Greece!
