La Cellera de Ter planting with Fundació EMYS

In 2020, Storm Gloria wreaked havoc on several river areas in Spain, including the riparian forest in La Cellera de Ter, Girona.

Fundació Emys, our colleagues, took action last year by initiating a tree-planting project to restore the affected area. A team of young volunteers enthusiastically got involved, rolling up their sleeves, and learning the art of tree planting and the usage of planting tools. They planted a variety of riparian species, and in the process, discovered the beauty of this location near the Ter river in the province of Girona, Catalonia.

Their efforts made them proud to contribute to the restoration of this riparian forest after the damage caused by Storm Gloria.
