Update from the Las Rozas Planting Site
A recent monitoring visit was conducted on February 17, 2026, to the GranPlantación_LasRozas_2023_23-24 planting site in Spain. Observations revealed a sufficent presence of the planted saplings. The survival rate of the saplings was found to be low but realistic with the conditions and objectives, indicating a positive preliminary establishment phase. The visit also highlighted several challenges. Areas of the site showed signs of flooding, likely due to recent heavy rainfall. Furthermore, the natural regeneration of brooms was observed to be a factor influencing the growth and development of some planted saplings. The presence of wildlife, specifically boars and rabbits, was also noted, suggesting potential interactions with the site's vegetation. These insights provide a comprehensive overview of the site's current conditions and the natural dynamics at play.
