A Visit to the Liepen-Immensoll-Basedow Planting Site

A recent visit to the Liepen-Immensoll-Basedow planting site offered valuable insights into the project's progress. The site showed evidence of active maintenance, specifically weed control, which is crucial for the young trees' development. Observations indicated varying success rates among different species. Notably, Douglas fir seemed to be experiencing higher mortality compared to other species planted. Encouragingly, there were signs of natural regeneration occurring within the site, suggesting a positive trajectory for the area's long-term ecological recovery. The impact of drought conditions was also apparent. Overall, a moderate proportion of the trees planted appear to be thriving, alongside promising indicators of natural regrowth.
