Life Terra plants with the Green Rebel project

The Green Rebel project is aimed at promoting regenerative agriculture techniques. The young owners apply a holistic approach in which pioneer trees like poplar and eucalyptus are planted in line with more permanent species in between. The pioneers will give biomass and shade to get the next generation of trees established. Also, Mediterranean herbs were planted just outside the tree line and beans (nitrogen fixers) were sowed to increase the soil activity. Mulching (straw from a neighbor) is applied to cover the soil and help water retention.

This former intensely cultivated (horticulture) land has suffered from over fertilisation and pesticide use, now with these so-called syntropic farming methods the soil will be restored faster.

Thanks again to The Green Rebel project and Climate Farmers for making this project possible, we learned a lot on your farm.
