Life Terra team visits landowners in the Valencian region

Last week, the Life Terra team visited some stakeholders in the Valencian region (Spain). We met with both private entities and public bodies who were interested in collaborating with the project.

Amongst them, three municipalities (Callosa d’En SarriàAlcoi, and Carcaixent) who offered their land to carry out reforestation activities involving schools and citizens; a hiking centre (Centre Excursionista de Ròtova) who wants to engage volunteers in their reforestation activities; a company (Natura constructiva) specialised in environmental works and professional plantings; and the Centre for Forestry Research and Experimentation (CIEF) of the Valencian Region, which produces certified plant material in the area and actively participates in other LIFE projects.

Thanks to these visits, we got valuable insight on the status of the land in this region, as well as on the possibilities for networking and for organising tree-planting events with citizens. We will use all this input to start making plans for the coming planting season (fall 2021).
