Monitoring Visit to Lomellina Planting Site
A recent monitoring visit was conducted at the Lomellina_2025_I planting site in Italy on March 17, 2026. The site presented as a very large and open area. Observations indicated that a number of the planted trees have successfully established themselves, with many having grown considerably, some reaching nearly two meters in height. These trees appeared to be in good condition, although they had not yet begun to leaf out, which is consistent with the early spring timing of the visit. Careful protection measures for the trees were also noted. The ground throughout the plot was characterized as very wet and clayey, yet the soil appeared healthy overall. Additionally, a dense hedge of young shrubs and bushes, seemingly comprising a single species, surrounded the paddock fences.
