Visit to the Mallén Planting Site

A monitoring visit was recently conducted at the Mallén planting site in Spain. This location is known for its extremely dry conditions, presenting significant challenges for the establishment of new growth. Limited rainfall and high soil dryness were noted as factors impacting the young trees.

Despite these demanding environmental conditions, the assessment revealed that a significant number of trees have successfully established themselves. This makes Mallén one of the more demanding locations within the project, highlighting the difficulties faced by the young plants.

Even so, many of these surviving trees demonstrated notable resilience, with some maintaining steady growth even in this harsh environment. The visit provided valuable insights into the ongoing efforts at this particularly challenging site.
