Miyawaki trees in center of Nice doing very well

During our most recent visit to Nice (start of a new planting project with 15.000+ new trees!), we took the opportunity to review our January 2024 Miyawaki planting. 

The trees were doing very well, some trees have grown 2 meters or more in just 1 year! In some small areas local dogs (and certain neighbours?) have been damaging some plants. We keep insisting with the technical team of Ville de Nice to make barriers to keep animals out and trust this will help to further improve the results over the coming years. This spring we aim to also have a new layer of mulch added in order to protect the soil and retain more water in the area. Please see the photos below for some impressions of the growth in this plot.
