Monitoring Visit at Bellprat: Seeing Nature Bounce Back
We recently visited one of our favorite Life Terra plots in Bellprat, Catalunya. This area has faced its share of challenges: drought, extreme heat, and even wildfires. But despite all that, the plantation, now two years old, is showing really positive results.
During our visit, we checked the survival rate of the trees, and we’re happy to report they are thriving. The plantation has also helped boost natural regeneration across the site, with bushes and aromatic plants slowly taking over the rocky hills. It’s amazing to see the ecosystem starting to find its balance again.
One of the highlights of this visit was removing the tree protectors from those trees that are now strong enough to survive on their own. These protective tubes are usually used to shield young trees from wildlife, but many of these saplings have grown tall and sturdy, ready to stand on their own.
