A recent visit to the Monte_do_Padrao planting site offered valuable insights into the project's progress. The area is expansive and varied. Monitoring data collected on April 30, 2025, revealed that approximately 30% of the planted trees were estimated to be surviving. It's worth noting the site has not undergone maintenance. Observations indicate that chestnut, almond, and walnut species experienced comparatively higher mortality. Encouragingly, natural regeneration was evident throughout the site. The area has recently experienced severe weather, including heavy rain and strong winds.
