More trees in the ground in Florina, Greece

On Wednesday 26th of May, LIFE Terra and CERTH team organized a new planting event at Aetos of Florina, in Greece. Trees were planted in many areas of the village, like the abattoir, the cemetery, the Elementary, and Junior High schoolyards, but most importantly around a monument for locals who were murdered by the Nazi soldiers.

All COVID-19 protocol measures were followed, for the safety of the participants. A short introduction of Life Terra project was presented to the participants, as well as the schools’ students, with whom our team discussed the importance of tree planting. CERTH team, local authorities and volunteers from the village planted together about 160 trees, including Macedonian oak (Quercus trojana), Common hornbeam (Carpinus betulus), Cornelian cherry (Cornus mas) and Mediterranean cypress (Cupressus sempervirens).
