Our Founder on Spotify: the “Bomen over Bos” Podcast
For everyone who understands Dutch, there’s a great new episode of Bomen over Bos (Talk About Forests) featuring our founder, Sven Kallen. He joined hosts Sander Kooistra and Jan Westerhof for a long walk through the woods near Wouwse Plantage in West-Brabant, talking about what we do at Life Terra and why we focus so much on practical nature restoration.
The conversation goes straight to the point: climate change is moving faster than our forests can handle, and the gap between what we know and what we actually do is still too wide. Sven stresses something we see across Europe every planting season: forests need species that can deal with the conditions we’re heading into, not just the ones that used to work in the past. He pushes for a more open, science-driven approach instead of endless debates about “native” versus “non-native” trees.
Should Dutch forests be planting cork oaks, holm oaks, or even sequoias in the coming decades? The episode doesn’t oversell or dramatise, but it does explore the questions that matter if we want resilient landscapes.
If you’re curious about the thinking behind our work, this is a solid listen.
