Planting day with Heimstaden at Landgoed Beukenhorst
Last week we planted together with the fantastic Heimstaden team at the beautiful Landgoed Beukenhorst in Vught, a historic estate managing over 200 hectares of land since 1780.
We were warmly welcomed by Bibian, the estate’s steward, who shared inspiring stories about the land’s history and future plans. Between the tall reeds and the impressive tree-lined entrance lane, it was the perfect setting for a meaningful day outdoors.
Together we planted 670 young trees to boost biodiversity and enrich the landscape, a contribution to Beukenhorst’s broader restoration plans, including new woodland edges, rabattenbos enrichment and biodiverse hedgerows.
The soil put up a fight (a few spades broke even), but the Heimstaden team worked incredibly hard and stayed in great spirits throughout.
A big thank you to the entire Heimstaden team for your enthusiasm and teamwork, and a heartfelt thanks to Bibian for your warm welcome and inspiring guidance.
Together, we’re helping nature flourish at Beukenhorst.
