Visiting La Casella Planting Site
A recent visit to the La Casella planting site offered valuable insights into the progress of the reforestation efforts. The monitoring date was April 29, 2025. It was noted that maintenance activities, including watering and mulching, had been carried out. During the visit, it was observed that some species, specifically *Juniperus oxycedrus*, *Quercus ilex rotundifolia*, and *Fraxinus ornus*, exhibited a higher incidence of mortality. Despite this, the overall condition of the site showed a positive trend, with a significant portion of the planted trees appearing to thrive. Evidence of natural regeneration was also present, indicating a healthy ecosystem response. The need to manage the growth of these naturally regenerating plants was identified. Noteworthy environmental factors impacted the area including strong winds and drought. The use of watering, mulching, and mineral protective covers appeared to aid the planting efforts.
