Visiting the Ooijse-Graaf Planting Site

A recent visit to the Ooijse-Graaf planting site provided a valuable opportunity to observe its progress. The site, established in 2022/23, showed a high degree of establishment among the planted saplings. Evidence of maintenance activities, including pruning and mulching, was apparent, suggesting ongoing care for the young trees. While most species appeared to be thriving, the impact of a past drought was noted as a significant factor influencing the site's development. Interestingly, natural regeneration was also observed, with a conscious decision made to allow it to continue. There's also a consideration to begin a new initiative along the nearby dike, potentially expanding the impact of the planting efforts.
