Reviving Lands in Lomellina, with local schools and Adyen Italy

Lomellina, a historical-geographical territorial area in the province of Pavia, in western Lombardy, has long suffered from a decline in biodiversity due to intense agricultural activity. However, nature is making a comeback , thanks to the dedication of people who care about restoring the land and creating healthier ecosystems. This time, our host and landowner, Scuderia La Colonna supported the initiative to establish a biodiversity perimeter, helping protect the fields and encourage the return of native species.

Our two-day planting event kicked off with a special visit from a local school of Voghera. The students eagerly joined us in planting a carefully selected mix of native trees and shrubs, including:

Rosa canina (Dog rose), Prunus spinosa (Blackthorn), Taxus baccata (Yew), Laurus nobilis (Bay laurel), Crataegus monogyna (Hawthorn)

The children’s enthusiasm was contagious! They enjoyed the fresh air, the hands-on experience of planting, and the idea of helping nature so much that they didn’t want to go back to school.

On the second day, our amazing partner, Adyen Italy joined the effort by supporting the activity physically and getting their hands in the soil! Together, we planted over 250 trees, and the impact is already visible. This biodiversity corridor will help enrich the landscape, support new wildlife, and contribute to a healthier environment for future generations.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part in this effort! Restoring nature is a collective challenge, and we can’t wait to continue working together. See you at the next planting event!
