Scaling Super Heero: Supporting the Energy Transition of Buildings

How do we make energy renovation projects actually happen? That was one of the key questions discussed during the 2026 edition of Forum Duezerocinquezero, where experts explored new financial tools supporting the energy transition of buildings.

Among the featured initiatives was Scaling Super Heero, a European project focused on helping communities and local actors launch energy renovation projects more easily and effectively.

As energy efficiency becomes increasingly important not only for private homes, but also for schools, sports facilities, hotels and public buildings, one of the biggest challenges remains financing. During the roundtable on crowdfunding and Conto Termico 3.0, speakers discussed how tools such as renewable energy communities, crowdfunding and public incentives can help unlock renovation projects that often struggle to move beyond the planning stage. Humanity has invented solar panels, yet still makes funding applications feel like medieval trials.

Scaling Super Heero aims to simplify this process by supporting communities through the early phases of renovation projects, helping make the transition more accessible, collaborative and financially achievable.

The discussion included contributions from Andrea Grigoletto and Thomas Messervey, who highlighted the importance of combining technical innovation with practical financial models capable of supporting long-term energy transition goals across Europe.
