Monitoring Visit to Schalksmühle Planting Site
A monitoring visit was recently conducted at the Schalksmühle (Nordrhein-Westfalen) planting site in Germany on June 24, 2025. The purpose of the visit was to thoroughly assess the current condition of the plantation and the overall status of the reforestation activities. Experts from the University of Barcelona were present to lend their insights.
During the visit, the team comprehensively evaluated various aspects, including plant survival, general plant health, and growth performance across the planted areas. Soil conditions were also reviewed, along with any signs of stress and the effectiveness of implemented maintenance measures. Observations indicated that a significant majority of the plants are establishing as expected, with their development consistent with the project timeline.
While the reforestation efforts were largely validated as progressing positively and in line with technical and ecological objectives, minor observations and recommendations were also provided. These suggestions aim to further enhance plant resilience and optimize long-term reforestation outcomes. The visit affirmed the positive trajectory of the project's ecological impact.
