Success again in Madrid: 2,000 people join the event in Las Rozas

Last Saturday, October 28th, Life Terra organised in collaboration with the Las Rozas City Council and the support of OneTreePanted the third edition of this big family planting event. And it was a total success again!

More than 2,000 people joined us in Las Rozas, Madrid, to plant +3,500 trees to add biodiversity and green in this area of the city's surroundings. It was fantastic to see the enthusiasm and energy, especially of the younger generations who spent the whole morning learning about trees and how to plant them.

We are really proud to take part in initiatives like this one, as they serve as an example that anyone can take impactful climate action and it is a great way to involve the citizens in local environmental activities.

Life Terra and the Municipality of Las Rozas

The City Council of Las Rozas has been collaborating with Life Terra since 2019, when the only tree-planting event for the COP25 Madrid climate conference was organised. In 2022, we established another partnership with annual events for schools and citizens. In total, these annual tree-planting collaborations have mobilised more than 7,000 citizens in environmental action and more than 10,000 trees have been planted.

At Life Terra, we see the growing interest from local authorities in organising climate action activities. We have been planting in many European cities, including Nice (FR), Den Bosch (NL), Lisbon (POR), Oostende (BE), Dublin (IR), Cologne (DE) and Rome (IT).

We hope to inspire and welcome other municipalities in Europe to become involved in climate action and enjoy the multiple benefits of tree planting and citizen participation.
