Traum-Ferienwohnungen allows vacationers to become tree adopters

Barcelona, 24. January 2022. In cooperation with Life Terra, Traum-Ferienwohnungen offers holidaymakers the opportunity to reduce the ecological footprint of their trip by adopting a tree.

Once holidaymakers have found their holiday accommodation and made a booking request, they have the opportunity to adopt a tree. In cooperation with the Life Terra Foundation, vacationers can sponsor a recently planted tree. The sponsorship costs only €5 per tree and can be extended as desired or purchased as a gift for third parties. Around 36,000 trees are currently available for adoption in Germany, Spain, Netherlands, Greece, and Belgium.

After adoption, the location, the tree species, the date, and the event at which the tree was planted can be viewed. Tree sponsors can follow the growth of their tree in a personal dashboard. Because all the trees offered for adoption have already been planted, the money raised will allow more trees to be planted. These new trees can then also be adopted. Life Terra has already been able to plant over 200,000 trees.

Traum-Ferienwohnungen wants to help Life Terra in their mission to enable people to take impactful climate action.

“We are well aware that planting trees alone is not enough and that different solutions are needed to reduce our CO₂ emissions”, explains Ruud Smeets, Managing Director of Traum-Ferienwohnungen. “Nevertheless, we see reforestation as one of the most ecologically and economically sensible options for binding CO₂ from the atmosphere. Last year, 38% of our holiday guests were families with children. We see this as a great opportunity, especially for our little guests, to combine nature conservation and climate protection measures with positive holiday memories and to be able to follow the growth of the tree”, says Smeets.
