Visit from Romanian tree planting partner - review of Las Rozas COP25 planting in 2019

These days we are very pleased to host a delegation of our Romanian partner Plantam fapte bune in Spain. Together we've visited multiple plantings in the Madrid and Valladolid area as well as visited our major nursery partner.

On Sunday we kicked off our visit in the Las Rozas de Madrid area where, back in December 2019, Life Terra organised the only tree planting activity for COP25. It was amazing to see the spectacular growth of the pines, holm and cork oaks, junipers, as well as strawberry tree and other bushes, especially those planted with Cocoons. Big thanks to the Parks & Gardens team of Las Rozas for taking care so well of these trees.

Since COP25 we have established a long term relationship with the Las Rozas City Council and we've been planting here in different locations every year. This coming season we are especially excited, as we got awarded additional funds by our partner One Tree Planted. This will allow us to host multiple events for schools, citizens and local companies. We're particularly happy with the agreement with the Centro Ocupacional de la Fundación Trébol which helps physically and mentally impaired citizens to stay active and learn new skills. Together we will plant and take care of a new Miyawaki (high density urban forest) area this coming season, so stay tuned for more updates on these tree plantings!
