Bosgroepen is the Netherlands’ biggest cooperative of private (forest) landowners. It provides the expertise and management for properties and helps owners to stay up to date on the latest developments and ensure healthy forests. A particular aspect is testing and implementing new methods of forest management to make these more climate-proof. Resiliency is a key word here and Bosgroepen helps its members to create more diverse, dynamic forests, sometimes also planting more drought-resistant species and testing new varieties that will hopefully thrive the coming decades.
Life Terra cooperates with Bosgroepen Midden-Nederland to restore destroyed forest land or agricultural lands that can use trees for example to transition towards agroforestry. We particularly like the aspect of jointly organised community plantings where local citizens and companies are invited to add their energy for positive climate action.
