Boadella Planting Site Visit: Observations from Empordà
A recent visit to the Boadella planting site in Empordà offered valuable insights into the progress of the restoration efforts. The overall impression was positive, with a substantial portion of the planted saplings appearing to thrive. Evidence of maintenance, specifically irrigation, was noted, suggesting ongoing efforts to support the new growth. Interestingly, observations indicated variations in survival rates among different species, with some exhibiting higher mortality. Encouragingly, natural regeneration was also observed, suggesting the beginnings of a self-sustaining ecosystem. The effects of a past drought were apparent and likely contributed to some plant loss.
