Developing a reforestation project in Teruel, Spain

This spring, together with the University of Barcelona and Volterra, we are working with five students with the bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences (UB) to develop a reforestation project in Spain.

We visited the project area in Camarena de la Sierra, in the beautiful region of Teruel, to analyse the ecological context, take soil samples, and interview key stakeholders and local people to understand their vision. This was an opportunity for students to get hands-on experience and apply their theoretical knowledge to a real reforestation project.

We thank the Mayor of Camarena de la Sierra (who is an experienced forester!) for sharing his expertise, showing us the area, and relying on Life Terra to restore nature around his village. We’re looking forward to making this project a reality in the next planting season!
