Life Terra and the European Tree Planting Day take part in the Green Train initiative
The Green Train is an interdisciplinary contemporary art program designed to deepen public awareness of, and engagement with, European landscapes. It highlights the environmental advantages of train travel, using one of Europe’s most iconic international train lines as its conceptual foundation and starting point.
The project brings together Nina Backman’s Silence Project and her environmental grassroots initiative A Million Trees to Finland, with European Sleeper and a network of environmental partners such as Life Terra Foundation, Thinking Forest Foundation, Mediamatic, Welna Estate, The Finnish Environmental Institute (Syke), to create a unique, art-driven international journey.
This collaboration blends sustainable transport, ecological restoration, and cultural engagement into a single experience.

Where: in Berlin and Amsterdam, and on the European Sleeper train
The Green Train will take part in the European Tree Planting Day, a movement led by Life Terra that wants to unite communities across Europe to plant trees simultaneously. Its main goal, in line with the Green Train’s values, is to raise awareness about climate change, encourage responsibility for our planet’s future, and create a lasting impact through communal action.
Life Terra supports the Green Train project by providing its tree-tagging platform and a digital dashboard to map all the trees planted, as well as promoting the initiative through its channels and the European Tree Planting Day.
