Tulwap Forest: First Life Terra's partner event in Kenya
On 14 November 2025, Ned Dwyer represented Life Terra as a volunteer with the Irish charity Brighter Communities Worldwide in a planting event in Tulwap Forest, Kericho County, Kenya.
The event was hosted by the Kenya Forest Service and the Irish NGO, bringing together local leadership, international partners, and the people of Tulwap with a shared vision: restoring forests while strengthening livelihoods through agroforestry.
More than 200 community members from the Tulwap area took part in the planting, from elders to children, highlighting strong local engagement and coordination.

Over the course of the day, more than 500 trees were planted, carefully selected to support both ecological restoration and economic resilience. The species included: Pinus africana, Podocarpus falcatus, Croton megalocarpus and Olea africana.
These species were selected for their suitability to local conditions and their contribution to land restoration, soil improvement, and biodiversity. They also support a wider agroforestry strategy aimed at combining environmental restoration with sustainable income-generating opportunities for local communities.
Life Terra is proud to had the opportunity to support this initiative that aligns climate action with sustainable land use and community development objectives.
