A Visit to the Saians Planting Site in Galicia

A recent visit to the Saians planting site in Galicia provided valuable insights into the project's progress. The observation date was April 30, 2025. The initial impression was overwhelmingly positive, with the vast majority of the planted saplings appearing to be thriving. Maintenance activities, including pruning and the removal of protective shelters (now that the plants are established), had been carried out. Interestingly, the survey indicated no specific species exhibiting a disproportionately higher mortality rate than others. Encouragingly, there were signs of natural regeneration occurring within the plot, requiring monitoring and formative pruning to manage its growth. No catastrophic events had impacted the site. The general health and robust establishment of the plantings paint a picture of a flourishing ecosystem in development.
