Plant and take care of your tree
The Turkish hazel (Corylus colurna) is a beautiful, resilient tree known for its upright form, broad canopy, and impressive longevity.
We chose this species because it’s particularly tolerant of drought once established, adapts well to different soil types, and thrives even in urban conditions, making it both practical and symbolic as a lasting, low-maintenance addition to any space.
For planting, choose a sunny or lightly shaded spot with enough room for it to grow, as it can become quite large over time. Plant in well-drained soil, water regularly during the first year, and mulch to help retain moisture. While it ultimately prefers open ground, a young tree can be kept on a spacious balcony in a large container for some time, just ensure good drainage and occasional repotting as it grows.
