LIFE Teixeres

LIFE Teixeres is a LIFE-funded project coordinated by the Generalitat Valenciana through the Centro de Investigación y Experimentación Forestal (CIEF), and focused on the restoration and conservation of Mediterranean forest ecosystems in the Valencian region (Spain). The project aims to improve forest resilience, biodiversity, and adaptation to climate change through large-scale planting actions, ecological restoration techniques, and applied forestry research.

LIFE Teixeres brings together technical expertise in forest management, experimentation, and long-term monitoring, contributing to more sustainable and climate-resilient forests in Mediterranean environments.

Life Terra and the LIFE Teixeres project established a collaboration with the objective of strengthening the monitoring and traceability of tree planting actions carried out within the project. Through this partnership, all trees and shrubs planted under LIFE Teixeres in the Valencian region are being tagged and geolocalised on the Life Terra digital platform.

To date, over 20,000 trees and shrubs from the LIFE Teixeres project were registered and made visible on Life Terra, reinforcing transparency, visibility, and long-term monitoring of restoration actions. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to ecological restoration, data-driven forest management, and the objectives of the European LIFE programme.
