Municipality of Alcoi

The Municipality of Alcoi actively promotes environmental education and ecological restoration through hands-on initiatives that engage the local community. In collaboration with the environmental NGO Interpreta Natura, Alcoi has facilitated reforestation activities across the Valencian region, involving students, families, local associations, and international volunteers.

A key aspect of this work includes supporting the reintroduction of Ruscus murtae, an endemic plant species native to the area. This initiative contributes to the preservation of local biodiversity and the strengthening of ecosystem resilience.
