Municipality of Cheste

In the municipality of Cheste, reforestation efforts have been carried out in collaboration with residents in the Aguas Perdidas residential area. The initiative focused on planting a variety of native tree species to accelerate ecological restoration and address the urgent need for shaded areas in this exposed environment.

This intervention, the second of its kind, was driven by the active participation of the local community, highlighting both the environmental challenges faced and the residents’ commitment to improving their surroundings. While civic engagement has been strong, the project also reflects the need for greater institutional attention to underrepresented urban areas.

The initiative underscores the importance of community-led restoration and the role of public support in creating healthier, more resilient green spaces.
