Municipality of Favara
The Municipality of Favara is actively engaged in environmental education and ecological restoration through collaborative reforestation initiatives. In partnership with the environmental NGO Interpreta Natura and with the support of Life Terra, Favara hosted a successful planting activity involving local schoolchildren, teachers, and municipal staff.
Participants received training on tree-planting techniques and were introduced to innovative reforestation support systems, such as Cocoon, Catúfol, Biochar, and algae, currently being studied through the Sauri project. These methods aim to improve the survival and resilience of newly planted trees in Mediterranean environments.
By involving the entire school community and raising awareness about climate action and biodiversity, the Municipality of Favara demonstrates a strong commitment to sustainability, youth engagement, and the long-term care of restored natural areas.
