Porcus Natura

Porcus Natura is a regenerative farm located in the Alentejo region of Portugal, near Montemor-o-Novo. Spanning 700 hectares, the farm integrates livestock—pigs, goats, sheep, and cows—into a rotational grazing system that helps restore soil fertility and ecosystem health. Under the leadership of Francisco Alves, who follows in his father’s footsteps, Porcus Natura is reimagining pig farming: each pig lives in a quarter-hectare plot of natural landscape, part of a broader mission to align food production with ecological regeneration.Life Terra is proud to support Porcus Natura in its mission to bring degraded land back to life. During the 2021–2022 planting season, we kicked off our collaboration by donating the first 1,000 native trees and shrubs. This effort expanded significantly in the 2022–2023 season, with nearly 8,000 more trees planted across different parts of the farm.
Together, through several planting events, we supported a diverse agroforestry system that contributes to soil regeneration, increase biodiversity, and offer shade and food for the farm's animals.
