Scaling SUPER - HEERO

Scaling Super-Heero builds on the success of the SUPER-HEERO EU project, which created an innovative financing model for energy efficiency upgrades in supermarkets. Through crowdlending and reward campaigns, shoppers, citizens, and communities were directly involved. As a result, several supermarkets in Italy received retrofits: like solar panels, batteries, and other energy-saving measures, and began showing measurable results.

With Scaling Super-Heero, the project is taking the next step: expanding the model beyond supermarkets to commercial shopping centers, retailers, schools, and energy communities. Its core aim is to trigger energy efficiency interventions, engage communities, and generate tangible social impact.

The project drives urban sustainability by helping companies reduce their environmental footprint, adopt circular economy practices, and implement strategies that deliver measurable change.

Life Terra’s role

We complements these efforts by introducing dense Miyawaki urban forests. These micro-forests capture CO₂, boost biodiversity, and cool urban areas, adding a green layer that enhances the project’s overall impact. By combining energy efficiency upgrades with nature-based solutions, Scaling Super-Heero helps companies tackle emissions more effectively while integrating tangible, community-focused environmental action.
